Have Your say in Clarence Tourism
If you have an idea, suggestion or recommendation for the Clarence River Way project, now is the time to have your say.
Clarence River Way is all about growing tourism potential by maximising the opportunities offered by the Clarence River, local lifestyle, environmental and cultural features, regional foods, sports and recreation, events and much more.
A masterplan for Clarence River Way is currently under preparation by Clouston Associates, in partnership with SGL Pty Ltd.
The master plan will establish a set of touring routes based on key Valley visitor experiences, a marketing and packaging strategy and importantly identify future investment opportunities.
The project is now in its consultation phase.
Mayor Ian Tiley in supporting the concept said, “The Clarence River is the largest coastal river in Australia and at the moment, one of our most under utilised resources. This project will go a long way to address this problem by highlighting how great the river and the Clarence Valley are.”
According to Kerren Law, Council’s Manager for Economic Development, the consultation process provides lots of opportunity for input from business, industry, agencies and the community. The project team are encouraging the local community to put forward ideas and suggestions.
The survey can be completed on-line from council’s web site www.clarence.nsw.gov.au (it takes less than five minutes). Survey forms are also available at Council’s offices at Maclean and Grafton or by contacting the economic development team on 6643 0200.
“This is your opportunity to have your say and contribute to the ongoing development of the Clarence Valley Way. A few minutes of inspiration now could change the future.” The Mayor added.
The Federal Government’s Australian Tourism Development Program, Clarence Valley Council and the NSW Department of State and Regional Development support the project.
